World Bank–Funded Project in Ethiopia

How Firanbon Consultancy Supported a World Bank–Funded Project in Ethiopia: A Commitment to Sustainable Development

As Ethiopia continues to expand its infrastructure, agriculture, and industrial sectors, the need for environmentally responsible development has never been more critical. At Firanbon Consultancy PLC (FEC PLC), we take pride in contributing to this national growth through our collaboration with globally recognized organizations—including the World Bank.

Over the years, Firanbon has supported several World Bank–funded initiatives by providing high-quality Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA), Environmental and Social Management Frameworks (ESMF), and technical advisory services. These assessments play a vital role in ensuring that major development projects meet international environmental, social, and safety standards while aligning with Ethiopian regulations.

One of our key contributions involved conducting comprehensive environmental and social safeguard studies for large-scale infrastructure and community development projects. Our multidisciplinary team worked closely with World Bank specialists, government institutions, and regional authorities to evaluate potential environmental risks, community impacts, and long-term sustainability considerations.

This project allowed us to apply our deep expertise in:

  • Baseline environmental studies
  • Community consultations and stakeholder engagement
  • Social impact evaluations
  • Risk mitigation planning
  • Regulatory compliance guidance

Through this partnership, we helped create stronger frameworks that ensure development projects are not only economically viable but also environmentally sound, socially responsible, and community-centered.

Our work with the World Bank continues to strengthen our position as a trusted consultant in Ethiopia’s environmental and development sector. We remain committed to supporting future national projects that promote green growth, responsible investment, and long-term sustainability.
